Scholarship Application Forms

Scholarship Applications (for winter or spring semester) of each year for processing. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, fees, room and board and general living expenses. Scholarships are paid directly to the school where the student is enrolled full time.

Kids’ Chance of Washington is registered in Washington as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization to provide needs-based scholarships to the children and spouses affected by these serious work-related injuries or conditions. To qualify, the worker must be totally permanently disabled under the criteria of the Washington Department of Labor and Industries, or deceased.

 

Schools that qualify are any accredited university, community, technical or vocational college.

 

Money is also available for costs associated with Apprenticeship Programs, also subject to need.

Annual award amounts are based on available resources and need. The amount may range from $500 to $6,000 per year.
The need for scholarships is based on the FAFSA or WASFA, whichever is applicable. It is required that this be completed and submitted for consideration.

Since 2001 Kids’ Chance of Washington has awarded over $663,625 for 164 scholarships and school-related money.

Instructions:
Upon downloading the Scholarship Application or the Renewal Application you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader or another PDF reader installed to access the application.

You will also need to include the following materials with your application:

  • Official copies of high school transcript of grades and college/technical
    school transcripts (if attended)
  • Financial aid printout from college or technical school (if applicable)
  • Letter of recommendation (optional but recommended)
  • Authorization to verify entitlement to Labor & Industries benefits.
